I am attempting weightloss, going from June 5th 2007 until whenever I hit my goal (going from 226 to 140):  If you wanna know how I'm doing it, look for the 'health diary' tag in my entries. From the Golden Compass site: Okay, so I'm not the best at bios, but here we go: I am a something-something year old (note my year and do the math yourself, because I'm not going to change my age every year anymore. Because, I am...yeah, lazy. *g*), who enjoys music, horror flicks, anime, Bon Jovi, swimming, role-playing games, video games, and being generally silly at any given moment, but not necessarily in any particular order. I am also a 1) (EXTREMELY) Lapsed Catholic, 2) Lapsed Shamanistic Pagan and 3) Don't really care about either fact other than to acknowledge that no matter what I have or have not done in my respective religious backrounds, that I believe in a higher something-or-other, and at the end of the day, that's just fine and more than enough for me. I run the receiving dock of a local hospital by myself, and yes, that includes liftng the heavy stuff and unloading the pallets. I am not a small, weak, or dependent girl by any means. On my off time, I swim, walk, explore, surf the net, role play, play video games, write, watch TV and draw or work with my computer art programs. I'm currently sticking my nose into the whole 'white privilege' thing and trying to learn about it with an open mind. Mind you, I am older, stubborn, and thought I was doing just fine before that, so there will be lapses in my behavior in regards to the subject. This is neither apology or excuse; just fact. Any old habit takes time to get over. Something as ingrained and insidious as white privilege even more so. I like to learn; conversely, I don't like to get into arguments that are likely to end in name calling, heated and overly high blood-pressure, or wanting to reach through the screen and strangle a bitch. If you poke me hard enough, though, I will indulge you in all of the above and more. Warning--I will tear you a new one if that happens. I'd rather not, but hey, you've been warned. Never poke a sleeping bear, or dragon. I am a proud New Jersey native, a proud one-time resident of Tucson, Arizona, and am somewhat ambivalent about my current residing spot in Texas. Keep in mind the Jersey--I have their in-the-face 'tude, and I have the Arizona-bred patience to keep it burning for quite a while. I am also Scottish on my dad's side, and Irish on my moms. Yes, 'temper' as a discriptor can be applied to me if you piss me off. Be glad it doesn't last long when that happens. For those of you into the New Age aspect, I am also a Cancer--missing Leo by all of eight hours. I am also a 'wood' Rooster. Tenacity and outspokeness are my friends, as well as being 'colorful' (read: slightly off my rocker, but in a good way. *g*). You get what you see, and yes, it is a handful, if usually a quiet one. I am not all that great at philisophical posts, sounding like I just graduated from Harvard, or sometimes even like I have a sane or intelligent thought in my head. But if you like good natured, down to earth, sometimes basic-mouthed talk, you might like it here. If so, come on in. Even if not--you're still welcome to hang around. I'm not Einstien, but you might find something interesting anyway. | |
